The Department of Asian Languages and Literatures in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position beginning fall semester 2017 (08/28/2017). We seek expertise in the analysis of Arabic literature, film, drama, or other cultural texts, from the modern period. Areas of interest will include postcolonial studies, gender/sexuality studies, and moving image studies. Appointment will be 100% time over the nine-month academic year (late-August to late-May). Appointment will be at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor consistent with collegiate and University policy.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Arab Studies, Comparative Literature, or related field and teaching experience.
