Mission or Goal of Unit
The mission of the Department of Neurology is to provide state of the art comprehensive patient centered neurological care for adults and children, perform translational and clinical research to further understanding of disease mechanisms and develop new treatments, and train the next generation of neurologists and clinical neuroscientists. The Department of Neurology is committed to enhancing diversity among its faculty, staff, and students. Chief purpose of this position in support of above mission or goal
We are seeking to fill a full-time faculty position in the Division of Child Neurology. This position will provide patient care, engage in medical student and neurology resident and fellow education, and participate in clinical research.
Position Responsibilities
1. Clinical
Primary clinical responsibilities include care of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
2. Teaching
The faculty member will teach medical students, neurology residents, and neurology fellows.
3. Research
The Division of Child Neurology is engaged in clinical and translation research projects. The faculty member will be expected to participate in and lead clinical research and clinical trials when appropriate.
4. Service
Faculty member will serve on departmental, School of Medicine and/or University committees as necessary as well as in a professional capacity in their field (e.g., reviewer, conference organizer, etc.)
Required Qualifications
• BC/BE in Neurology
• Completion of an accredited Child Neurology training program
• A specific subspecialty interest may also be accommodated based on Departmental needs
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills are essential

Interest in headache or tick/movement disorder
