Duties:
Designs, operates and analyzes large experiments or research projects. May serve as liaison with other areas of specialization to obtain support or technical expertise for projects. Recommends major changes in procedures or processes for research investigations. May personally conduct important and/or technically complex investigations.
Supervision:
Operates with considerable latitude for unreviewed action. Provides direction and supervision of graduate or undergraduate research assistants involved in experiments or research.

Additional Information:
The Mathematics Department in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Houston expects to hire a Research Associate 1.
The position will be for two years, with the possibility of a one year renewal. The successful applicant will conduct research in an area compatible with the research interests of the Mathematics Department. For this position we are especially interested in statistics and data analysis. In addition, the successful applicant will teach one course per semester in our professional graduate program Master of Science in Statistics and Data Analysis.

Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or Applied/Computational Mathematics with strong statistics background.
