Postdoctoral Fellow-Vascular Biology



This NIH funded laboratory investigates restenosis after cardiovascular interventions. Specific investigations involve the myristolated alanine-rich C kinase substrate (MARCKS) in vascular smooth muscle and endothelial cells. Specifically, we are interested in how this protein exerts opposite effects on proliferation and migration in these two cell types. Technical skills that will be needed for this project include tissue culture, real-time polymerase chain reaction, western blot, histology, fluorescent microscopy, and familiarity with small animal surgery.

Qualifications :

Successful candidates will have at a minimum a recent PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology or a highly related biomedical field, demonstration of success in publication and presentation, and familiarity or expertise in many of the techniques utilized by the lab.
