Post-doctoral research position in Division of Cardiology University of Maryland, Baltimore (180000QW)
A full time Post-Doctoral research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Charles Hong in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Maryland-Baltimore. MD, PhD or MD/PhD scientist is sought to join a laboratory at the forefront of academic drug discovery and cardiovascular biology. The Hong laboratory has identified a class of small molecules that ameliorate muscle damage in a Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) mouse model and adverse cardiac remodeling following myocardial injury. An ambitious and creative Ph.D. or M.D. scientist is sought to determine the mechanism of their action.
Qualifications :
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. or M.D. and expertise in techniques of cell and molecular biology. The post-doc will lead the project, which use mouse models of myocardial infarction and muscular dystrophy. Prior experience with mouse disease models, immunobiology, tissue immunohistochemistry and cardiac or skeletal muscle physiology are highly valued.
