Applications are invited for an NIH-funded full-time Post-Doctoral Fellow position immediately available in the Laboratory of HIV Persistence at the Institute of Human Virology, School of Medicine. The position is open to a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our efforts to investigate the mechanisms of HIV-1 persistence with the aim of developing a functional cure.

The selected candidate will investigate the products of a new HIV-1 gene, and will elucidate their role in viral replication and persistence using both in vitro and in vivo models. Moreover, the candidate will contribute to develop a gene therapy-based approach to achieve a functional cure for HIV-1. Qualifications :

Qualifications and Requirements.

PhD or MD/PhD with a strong knowledge base in one or more of the following areas: a) Molecular Biology (gene cloning, PCR, chromatin immunoprecipitation, western blot); b) Virology (viral infection, titration, propagation); c) Cell Biology (eukaryotic cell culture, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy); d) Gene Delivery (nucleofection, lipofection, viral transduction). The position requires a driven, motivated and enthusiastic individual. The selected candidate must be team-oriented, collaborative, able to work independently, and have excellent written and spoken communication skills. New Ph.D. graduates are encouraged to apply.
