The Department of French and Francophone Studies at Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 1, 2020 in 20th-21st Century French and Francophone Studies. Possible subfields include: postcolonial studies (ideally Maghrebi studies), performance studies, and gender studies.  Research and teaching interests in diversity are especially welcome.  The position may include the opportunity for involvement in the department’s Institut d’Avignon.  Candidates must have demonstrated teaching excellence and should expect to teach at all levels of our curriculum (including language courses and graduate seminars for our AB/MA program).  The successful candidate will be expected to be part of developing and teaching a diverse and inclusive curriculum, including contributing to college-wide initiatives such as the 360 Program and the Emily Balch Seminars.  Native or near-native fluency in French required.  Candidates must have completed all Ph.D. requirements by the start date.
