Job Description Summary

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures of Auburn University invites applications for an Assistant Professor in French starting Fall Semester 2020.

The candidate must be able to communicate fluently in French and English. For further information about Auburn University and our department visit:

Minimum Qualifications

PHD in French literature or culture/civilization or related fields or be ABD (Ph.D. in hand by start date). Native or near-native fluency in French and English is also required. Applicants must also provide evidence of teaching excellence at the college level in addition to a well-developed plan of research and scholarship. Willingness to direct study abroad programs, to contribute to on-line course development, and to participate in the development of the French program (including extracurricular activities) is expected.

Desired Qualifications

Familiarity with current language pedagogies and the ACTFL Guidelines as well as experience in innovative course curricula are highly desirable.
