Dynamic and vibrant, The Business School is one of Durham University’s four Faculties and is comprised of three Departments: Management and Marketing, Accounting, and Economics and Finance. With accreditations from AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS and professional endorsement from the Chartered institutes of Personnel Development and Marketing, the school’s vision is to lead business thought and practice to improve global wealth and well-being. We seek to appoint an Assistant Professor (teaching) In the Department of Management and Marketing, with a focus on one or more of the following subject areas Global Marketing, Retail Science and Digital Marketing. This post is required to build upon our teaching capacity in marketing, an important area for the School’s future growth and research focus.

 

We are looking for future colleagues who will lead and contribute to the development of world-class programmes and delivering an outstanding education. This will include designing and implementing innovative teaching methodologies using a wide variety of techniques as appropriate, such as technology-enhanced learning, the flipped class approach, case methods, experiential learning, and simulations. Experience of online teaching is desirable.  We welcome colleagues with a passion for student learning and a desire to enhance an inclusive community of learning, in and beyond the school.

 

We support our academic colleagues in publishing research in world-class journals, with a focus on quality rather than quantity. Our support for research includes including resources for national and international conference travel, seedcorn funding of research activity, a generous research leave policy, and a designated mentor. We also provide support for developing teaching skills and expertise and for engaging in innovative teaching and learning technologies aimed at continuous improvement of our teaching environment
