Job Description Summary

Faculty Part-Time, Accepting applications to establish a pool of applicants for possible future part-time openings. Salary commensurate with degree.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Associate’s Degree.
  2. Current certification in Health Information Management, RHIT or RHIA .
  3. Two years full-time professional work experience in a hospital Health Information Department.


Criteria

CRITERIA :The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed. Other information and observations made during the interview process may be considered in the selection process.

  1. Extent and variety of competence and expertise in health information management.
  2. Extent of education beyond the Associate’s Degree.
  3. Extent and relevance of teaching experience to anticipated teaching assignments.
  4. Extent of pertinent work experience in health information management.
  5. Extent of participation in professional associations.
  6. Evidence of ability to teach effectively within, and contribute positively to, a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population and campus environment.
  7. Extent of familiarity with philosophy and goals in Associate Degree Health Information Management program.


Job Requirements

  1. Degree from an accredited institution.
  2. Letters of reference must be job related and dated within the past three years.
  3. Documentation of experience and performance required.
  4. Unofficial transcripts must accompany application for teaching positions. Lack of transcripts may cause your application to be rejected from further consideration. Official transcripts of academic work required upon an offer of employment.
  5. Ability to teach days, evenings, weekends or online.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  7. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
