Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Services, or related field, psychology, sociology marriage & family counseling & pastoral counseling.
- Three – five years’ experience in a clinical setting in the
field of Human Services:
Clinical experience includes but is not limited to working mental health clinics, psychiatric hospitals, homeless shelters, day treatment programs facilities, sheltered workshops (people with disabilities) - Licensed or licensed eligible as a social worker, marriage & family therapist, professional counseling, pastoral counseling or certified in the therapeutic recreation field.
- Working toward certification as a Human Service provider (HS- BCP ) through the National Board of Counselors
- The candidate most demonstrate a good working knowledge of the concepts of oppression, marginalization, empowerment, resilience & strength perspective. Also candidate most understand power-differential relationships (transference) especially in a college environment.
- Candidate must demonstrate good “networking” skills when it comes to community involvement and as a member of the Human Service faculty.

- Extent and relevance of graduate educational preparation to coordination of human services program and teaching of human services courses.
- Relevance of non-teaching professional experience to coordination of a Human Services program and teaching of human services courses.
- Evidence of ability to effectively teach essential skills related to human services, counseling, and social work.
- Evidence of knowledge of and experience in employing a variety of instructional methods and techniques, including instructional technology and alternative approaches to accommodate different student learning styles.
- Evidence of currency in professional discipline through continuing education, professional development, and/or scholarly activity.
- Evidence of ability to work effectively within, and contribute positively to, a diverse, multi¬ ethnic, multi-cultural student population and campus environment
Job Requirements
- Degree from an accredited institution.
- Unofficial transcripts must accompany application for teaching positions. Official transcripts of academic work required upon an offer of employment.
- Documentation of experience and performance required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
- As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
