Job Description Summary

Faculty Part-Time, Accepting applications to establish a pool of applicants for possible future openings.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master’s Degree or equivalent* with a minimum of 12 graduate credits in Mass Communication or Audio Production. *Satisfactory completion of 30 semester hours or more of relevant academic study in an accredited doctoral program may, at the discretion of the vice president, be determined to meet this requirement.
  2. Teaching experience at the college or high school level or training experience in the area of Mass Communication.
  3. Minimum 5 years of professional experience relevant to the teaching area of Audio Production.
  4. Preference given to candidates who have professional, teaching, or training experience in Television, Video or Film Production or Emerging Media as well.


Criteria

The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed. Other information and observations made during the interview process may be considered in the selection process.

  1. Extent and relevance of teaching experience.
  2. Extent and relevance of graduate educational preparation to anticipated teaching assignments.
  3. Extent and relevance of non-teaching professional experience to anticipated teaching assignments. Example: Curriculum development.
  4. Extent and relevance of scope and diversity of content areas in which teaching assignments can be undertaken.
  5. Evidence of ability to teach effectively within, and contribute positively to, a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population and campus environment.


Job Requirements

  1. Degree from an accredited institution.
  2. Unofficial transcripts must accompany application for teaching positions. Official transcripts of academic work required upon an offer of employment.
  3. Documentation of experience and performance required.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
  5. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
  6. A background investigation will be conducted prior to offer of employment. A signed authorization for release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
