Degree and area of specialization:

DVM or equivalent.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Board certification or Board eligibility is required in the American College of Veterinary Dermatology or European College of Veterinary Dermatology.

Aptitude and/or experience in clinical instruction of veterinary students, interns, and residents is also expected.

Candidate interests should include clinical and/or basic science research, both of which are encouraged within our Clinical Track.

License or Certificate:

Must maintain a Wisconsin license to practice Veterinary Medicine.

Position Summary:

The Department of Medical Sciences of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a clinical-track, full-time, 12-month position within the Dermatology Service at the Small Animal Clinic of our teaching hospital, UW Veterinary Care. The successful candidate will join two other board-certified dermatologists providing clinical service within the Small Animal Hospital on the UW-Madison campus. UW Veterinary Care is a collegial, collaborative environment that offers specialty care with board certified experts in Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Neurology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Soft Tissue and Orthopedic Surgery, Exotic Animal Medicine, Dentistry/Oral Surgery, and Emergency and Critical Care. Excellent support services are available in Clinical Pathology, Pathology, Diagnostic Imaging, and Anesthesiology.

This position is being announced simultaneously with PVL 96909 ; please note only one vacancy exists. Having two position vacancy listings allows the School of Veterinary Medicine to consider candidates with both tenure-track credentials and non- tenure track credentials for this position.

Extensive opportunities for collaborative research and teaching exist within the School of Veterinary Medicine and the UW-Madison campus. The School of Medicine & Public Health, the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, the School of Pharmacy, the Biotechnology Center, and the School of Education are located within a short distance of the School of Veterinary Medicine on the UW-Madison campus. A close relationship also exists with the Wisconsin State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory which is located within the same footprint on campus as the School of Veterinary Medicine.
