Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Must have at least one year of experience in NCAA compliance or related field.
  • Exceptional attention to detail required.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to calculate and maintain accurate athletics and institutional financial aid awards for student-athletes.
  • Must demonstrate the highest levels of ethics and integrity.
License/Certification Required Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Director, Compliance/Financial oversees all financial aid for student-athletes to ensure their total aid does not exceed their cost of attendance.
  • Responsible for monitoring individual and institutional (team) financial aid award limits
  • Assist in giving interpretations of NCAA rules to all coaches, athletics staff, institutional staff members, and representatives of athletics interest
  • Ensures that the University's athletics programs are in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations governing financial aid to student-athletes
  • Processes financial aid for student-athletes and works directly with student-athletes and coaches to ensure they are within individual and team NCAA financial aid limitations
  • Discuss with student-athletes and/or parents on concerns about financial aid issues
  • Work collaboratively with the Office of Student Accounts, the Financial Aid Office, the University Bookstore and Food Services on all issues dealing with student-athlete scholarships to help with oversight and maintain NCAA institutional control
  • Work with Information Technology Services staff on changes yearly for JumpForward Financial Aid compatibility
  • Forecast for the Athletics Director and/or Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations the cost of athletic scholarships by sport for the year and for summer school
  • Work with the Academic Advisors for Student-Athletes on providing the number of hours student-athletes need if enrolled less than full time to graduate, or if participating in internships or student teaching. Provide these hours to the Associate Director/School Certifying Offical in the Office of Student Financial Aid Liaison before each semester and all hours for each summer session for each student-athlete for whom athletics is helping to pay for their education
  • Approve/deny refunds for student-athletes, checking to ensure their total aid does not exceed their attendance, except for NCAA /University allowed exceptions
  • Assist with maintaining the compliance portion of the athletics website
  • Serve on relevant campus committees as requested/needed
  • Demonstrate a commitment to and compliance with the University's and Department of Athletics policies and procedures as well as the conference and NCAA constitutions, bylaws, legislation and regulations
  • Perform other related duties as required
