The School of Public Health (SPH) is a large and complex professional school at UC Berkeley, with a mission to improve population health, especially for the most vulnerable, through interdisciplinary collaborations, preeminent education, and transformational research.
The School is comprised of six academic divisions and 30 research centers and programs, with over 200 faculty, 120 academic/research staff, 155 management/professional/ administrative staff, and 285 student researchers/instructors/workers. The School offers a core MPH degree with nine areas of study, along with five MA and MS degree programs, a DrPH and five PhD degree programs, and five concurrent programs with other UC Berkeley schools and colleges; in addition, the School offers a joint degree with UC San Francisco. The School launched UC Berkeley's first on-line degree program in 2012 and is rapidly expanding the program to reach a wide range of domestic and international audiences through online degrees, certificate programs, and executive education. The School enrolls approximately 575 graduate students per year, as well as educating roughly 440 undergraduate students through an upper-division public health major. The School's more than 13,000 graduates can be found working throughout the world, in both the public and private sectors.

The Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH) and its sister centers at Los Angeles and Irvine serve government, industry, schools, health professionals, and the general public through programs and partnerships designed to deepen understanding of occupational and environmental hazards and to prevent disease, fatalities, and injuries.

The Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH) is one of 18 regional Education and Research Centers (ERC), funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The NC-ERC supports traineeships at three UC campuses, UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UCSF.
The goal of the Northern California ERC, a consortium of programs of the University of California, is to train professionals as practitioner and research leaders in occupational safety and health by offering graduate degrees, residency training, clinical experiences, and research mentorship to trainees. The aim of the ERC is to provide a broad, multidisciplinary educational experience involving student and faculty collaborations in the classroom and on research and service projects. Activities are grounded in multi-campus, interactive teaching programs that translate knowledge into information that can be used to improve worker safety and health. In addition, through the Continuing Education Program and the Outreach components of the Labor Occupational Health Program, the ERC provides continuing education courses and outreach activities to other health professionals. The Center aims to provide an educational bridge from the University to external constituencies to ensure that practicing professionals, workers, their representatives, supervisors, and other educators benefit from the University's occupational health and safety expertise. The ERC strives to integrate an occupational safety and health perspective in all of its activities, including such activities as the summer internship program funded by the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences, which is designed to encourage students to consider further study in one of the ERC programs.
- Will act as program liaison for the following functions:
finance, event planning, human resources, communications,
marketing, and informational technology.
- Gathers and analyzes financial and other resource data;
prepares reports or analyses of operational activities, evaluation
of current and proposed services, etc. Works with supervisor to
develop and maintain budgets. Functions as a resource on issues
such as researching complex financial discrepancies, escalated
customer service problems and vendor concerns.
- Project management responsibilities as such as working with
director, research coordinator, and core researchers to recruit
staff, communicate with stakeholders, acquire project materials,
manage outreach logistics, and supervise program financials.
Contributes to fund raising or grant writing as
- Participates in the development and management of center
programs, including educational and training activities to ensure
success. Participates in the development and revision of standard
operating procedures and guidelines.
- Administers the design and drafting of organization website
content with supervision from director and researchers; Webmaster
in charge of all website course updates and edits. Handles
marketing and communications (social media, etc.) for the program.
Conducts trends analyses and helps develop resulting
recommendations. Provides guidance to supervisors and managers in
developing job descriptions, facilitating benefits communications,
and providing guidance on personnel policies and

program including processing payments and issuing invoices for
learners, and requires timely response to inquiries about upcoming

Salary & Benefits
The hourly salary range of the position is $30.17 - $33.09, commensurate with experience.
