Job Description

Non-tenure track beginning level faculty who possess the expertise and achievements to provide professional instruction in a manner that brings distinction to the appointing School/College and the University. Responsibilities include teaching, engaging in service both within and outside the university, maintaining professional credentials, and/or other duties that the appointing dean determines are consistent with this definition. Should have professional teaching and service responsibilities that are significantly heavier than those of tenured and tenure-track faculty. Research responsibilities are not included in the expectations for professors of the practice. Adheres to the faculty code of rights, responsibilities and conduct. Should hold the professional degree and licensing/certification in the field, with the additional requirement of significant experience and a distinguished record of achievement in her or his field outside of the academy, Fixed term of up to 3 years, subsequent limited term appointment of no more than five years may be offerred.

  • Position Overview

    The Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Kansas is seeking exceptional candidates for an up to half time, .5 FTE, position as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice in School Psychology. We are seeking applicants to direct our on-campus Center for Psychoeducational Services (CPS, https://soe.ku.edu/cps ) and to serve as the Director of Clinical Training for our Ph.D. and Ed.S. programs in school psychology. This is a nine-month non-tenure track appointment for a three-year period from 8/18/2020 through 5/16/2024. There are no research responsibilities associated with this position.     The position is located in the Department of Educational Psychology in the School Education at the University of Kansas, Lawrence campus. The School Psychology program has a Ph.D. and an Ed.S. program that are approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and are accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education/Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (NCATE/CAEP), and the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE). The Ph.D. program is also accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
