General Description of Position
Under the general supervision and direction of the Division Dean, Associate Dean and the Program Director of the Plumbing Technology Program, the Adjunct Instructor is responsible for providing instruction to students in various Plumbing courses (as needed), developing and updating of the courses taught in a classroom/laboratory, Internet, and or distance learning environment. Teaching assignments for this position include, but are not limited to; plumbing concepts, plumbing processes and practices, blue print reading for plumbers, fuel gas system concepts and practices and plumbing safety. This position is also responsible for the maintenance of the labs and equipment, develops course objectives, implements teaching strategies, advises students, monitors and evaluates student progress, keeps accurate records and works with the program and College teams.
Minimum Qualifications
1. An Associate degree in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology or related field.
2. Two (2) years’ experience in the field of Plumbing.
Desired Qualifications
1. Documentation of an advanced degree or additional college training related to Plumbing Technology teaching and instruction.
2. Teaching experience in a secondary or post-secondary setting with knowledge of plumbing concepts, plumbing processes and practices, blue print reading for plumbers, fuel gas system concepts and practices and plumbing safety.
3. Teaching experience in online, hybrid format, flipped classroom and progressive experience in utilizing technology in curriculum development and delivery.
