The Associate Director of Admissions Operations is responsible for managing staff that provides application support and services for prospective undergraduate students and parents. The Associate Director is charged with providing proactive communication and training team members so that they can process applicant materials and information in a timely and accurate fashion.
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure smooth, effective, and accurate daily operations in Admissions by:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience working with undergraduate recruitment and/or application processing.
- Experience working with high school and college transcripts and interpreting grading scales and schemas.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience working with relational databases in data entry and database management.
- Knowledge of academic policies as well as university and department operating procedures and policies and ability to apply the same.
- Excellent critical thinking, organization, communication, and time management skills.
- Must have a team mentality and be able to operate effectively in an ever-changing environment.
- Ability to handle confidential matters judiciously.
- Highly organized individual with the ability to multitask and who is detail oriented is vital to being successful in this role.
N/A Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Associate Director of Admissions Operations is responsible for managing staff that provides application support and services for prospective undergraduate students and parents. The Associate Director is charged with providing proactive communication and training team members so that they can process applicant materials and information in a timely and accurate fashion.
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure smooth, effective, and accurate daily operations in Admissions by:
- Serves as the backup to the Director of Operations in meetings, committees, and other administrative capacities.
- Assists the Sr. Director of Admissions and the Director of Operations in facilitating the applicant admissions decisions for undergraduate decisions as well as sitting in on senior-level decisions regarding prospect name buys and conducting data uploads.
- Serves as part of the office leadership team and supports all of the leadership responsibilities.
- Works with the Director of Operations to establish parameters for timely and accurate applicant processing, reporting, and reconciliation of records.
- Works with applicants and families to resolve application issues and challenges.
- Manages and identifies work priorities; scheduling work and projects.
- Establishes and manages employee performance standards, evaluations, and time reporting for all Operations staff.
- Responsible for the hiring, training, and staff development needs of all Operations staff including temporary staff.
- Recommends policies and establishes procedures that improve efficiencies in the office while still in the best interest of the student.
- Prepare and oversee development, maintenance, and revision of the Operations Unit policy and procedures manuals.
- Coordinates with other offices to establish procedures for technical admissions and recruitment services.
- Resolves functional and technical problems within the office and across campus.
- Provides guidance and assistance to staff in all technical areas and in understanding and applying policies and procedures.
- Oversees the admission of undergraduate students in compliance with University as well as the System Office academic and conduct standards.
