Department Summary
The Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact is a billion-dollar initiative designed to fast-track scientific discoveries and the process of turning those discoveries into innovations that improve the quality of life for people in Oregon, the nation and beyond. The Knight Campus will reshape the higher education landscape in Oregon by training the next generations of scientists, forging tighter ties with industry and entrepreneurs and creating new educational opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students.

Position Summary
The Knight Campus is seeking qualified applicants for its open ProTem Instructor/Lecturer pool. Instructors/Lecturers in the Knight Campus will develop innovative and multidisciplinary educational materials with the goal of preparing graduate students for entry-level positions in academic, industry, and government labs. Instructors/Lecturers will teach students topics that span both the life sciences and materials sciences. Instructors/Lecturers will mentor students on research projects that span a breadth of topics and need to stay current on innovative discovery and methods.

Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. In limited circumstances, there is the possibility of renewal beyond three years based on programmatic need, funding and performance.

Minimum Requirements
Instructor:
• Master's degree from an accredited higher education institution in relevant science field.
• Three years of experience in research/innovation capacity.
• Experience teaching and developing curriculum.

Lecturer:
• Terminal degree from an accredited higher education institution in relevant science field.
• Three years of experience in research/innovation capacity.
• Experience teaching and developing curriculum.

Professional Competencies
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• PhD from an accredited higher education institution in relevant science field.
