The Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design offers undergraduate and graduate-level courses in architecture, interior architecture and industrial design and occasionally has openings for part-time adjunct faculty. Interested and qualified applicants are invited to apply to be considered for these temporary, part-time positions. Adjunct appointments are made on a semester basis.

The Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design offers its students and faculty a platform of integrated disciplines - Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Industrial Design - that work together to negotiate the complexities of contemporary design practice, making extensive use of our state-of-the-art digital and fabrication facilities. Our college promotes the idea of the “city as a laboratory” for research, where design is considered a form of critical thinking, calling forth innovative solutions for contemporary conditions.

Qualifications :

Qualified candidates must hold at least one degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture or Industrial Design, at the graduate or undergraduate level. Candidates must hold a Master's degree or PhD in a design-related field, with an exemplary record of professional practice, scholarship, and teaching experience. Candidates must demonstrate superior design and representational skills, as well as clarity in communication and openness to collaboration. Candidates with a strong commitment to innovative teaching practices, cultural awareness, critical practice, theoretical scholarship, as well as various specializations including but not limited to lighting design, acoustics, advanced visualization, digital fabrication, urban design and sustainability are encouraged to apply.
