The African American Studies Program at the University of Houston invites applicants to apply for part-time lecturer positions. The African American Studies is a distinct academic discipline that engages Africa-centered research and teaching through an interdisciplinary approach to scholarly inquiry. This is a non-tenure track position and lecturer appointments are made on a semester to semester basis.

Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education, enhancing the diversity of faculty and students, as well as experience in the global workforce with professional experience. Preferred applicants will have a Ph.D. in African American Studies. Candidates with a Master’s degree or with substantial years of professional work experience will be considered.
