The Department of History at the University of Houston invites applications for a part-time adjunct to teach the US History Survey of Western Civilization Sequence. The teaching load is one or two courses per semester. Applicants for this position should have native or near native proficiency in English. The specialization is open and we welcome a wide range of subfields within US and Western Civilizations History.

Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses in the field. Candidates with a focus in one of the following department’s concentrations are encouraged to apply: Energy, Environment and Urban Development; Ethnicity and Race; Gender, Women and Family; War, Revolution, Diplomacy, and Politics; or Medicine.

The successful candidate is required to have a PhD in History or PhD candidate in History consider or related fields. A complete application will include: Letter of application; curriculum vitae; and unofficial transcripts.
