The Center for Mexican-American Studies (CMAS) at the University of Houston seeks applications for temporary, part-time lecturer positions to teach courses on an as-needed basis. Courses can be offered as face-to-face instruction or as a hybrid. This is a non-tenure track, part-time appointment and is not benefits eligible. Lecturer appointments are made on a semester-to-semester basis. Applications for adjunct lecturer positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed if openings become available. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations.
The Center for Mexican American Studies mission is to advance knowledge, promote critical thinking and foster the value of service to the community. This involves designing a broad spectrum of public and scholarly programs. Located within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, CMAS has evolved into an academic unit with several major components: teaching, research and publications, recruitment and retention, leadership training, academic advising and community service.

Qualifications :
Candidates with a doctoral degree will be given priority. Applicants with a Master’s degree may be considered. Preference will be given to candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials, have college or university teaching experience, or prior relevant industry experience.
