The University of Houston College of Pharmacy invites qualified applicants to apply for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Translational Research. We are seeking outstanding individuals with a solid track record of scholarship and expertise in the field of translational and clinical research. The successful candidate will be involved in increasing scholarship productivity within the Department, increasing the national recognition of the College, and mentoring junior faculty involvement in research.

The Department of Pharmacy Practice and Translational Research is made up of 30 full-time faculty members. The vision of the department is to be a leader in pharmacy and postgraduate education through excellence in translational, clinical and outcomes research. The department has a strong group of faculty that conduct high-level translational and clinical research. We are especially looking for applicants that would synergize with our expertise in infectious diseases and oncology. This will be a key position to expand our research infrastructure and increase our research visibility around the nation. · The department is seeking outstanding candidates with the potential for exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty, graduate, and undergraduate student population.

The position is fully funded by the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. Applicant screening will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.

Qualifications :

The candidates should possess a PharmD degree with research fellowship training or a PhD focused on clinical and/or translational research and a good knowledge of pharmacy practice. Pharmacist background preferred. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We are looking for talented personnel who will strengthen and provide synergy with our current areas of expertise that include infectious diseases and oncology.

Candidates applying for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level should have active research grant funding. Appointment at the academic rank at the Associate or Full Professor level will be determined by experience, relevant grant funding, and national/international reputation.
