Gannon University’s College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences invites applications for the nine-month tenure track position of Assistant Professor in the Department of English to begin August 2019.  Updated Requirements:  a Master of Fine Arts with a creative writing specialization or a Ph.D. with a creative writing specialization. Experience teaching first-year writing is essential, and skills in technology are highly desirable. The successful candidate will teach primarily liberal core courses, both in first-year writing and in literature, with additional courses in Creative Writing at the undergraduate level.

Gannon is located in the heart of downtown Erie, Pennsylvania, along the shores of Lake Erie and close to businesses, organizations and government agencies that are active partners in helping our students receive a hands-on education. Erie is a major tourist destination boasting 11 beaches, a wide variety of seasonal activities, professional sports teams, a professional symphony, multiple venues for live theater and music, and many other entertainment options.  Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Buffalo are within a two-hour drive.
