The Menninger Clinic is seeking a staff psychologist with a specialization in pain assessment and management to join our excellent team of professionals.
The Staff Psychologist is responsible for applying the knowledge, skills, and perspectives of clinical psychology to the services provided at The Menninger Clinic including, but not limited to, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, consultation, education, training, supervision, and research. This individual would serve as a clinical lead for our comprehensive outpatient assessment service. In addition to pain assessment, experience with other forms of specialized, psychological evaluation such as neuro-cognitive, personality, anxiety and trauma are also highly desired. In addition, this psychologist will provide evidence-based treatments in a variety of settings. The Staff Psychologist will also have the opportunity to interact with trainees in psychiatry, psychology, social work, and nursing.
Position Qualifications: Doctorate degree in clinical or counseling psychology; licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists; demonstrated skill in clinical work; a thorough grounding in diagnostic evaluation and intensive individual psychotherapy; familiarity with a wide range of assessment and treatment modalities; ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams; commitment to education; and current CPR certification. Training and experience in evidence-based pain assessment/interventions are preferred. Case formulation and conceptualization across interdisciplinary sources of data are critical in this role with strong, integrative writing skills a must have. Preferred: two (2) years of post-doctoral training or equivalent experience in clinical psychology; and two (2) years of demonstrated assignments in an interdisciplinary team treatment setting.
