Plastics Engineering Technology Tenure-Track Assistant Professor

Penn State Behrend invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Plastics Engineering Technology starting fall 2019. Exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for higher rank, commensurate with experience. Candidates should be committed to undergraduate education and participating in industry and government sponsored research. The position will be responsible for teaching courses in plastics mold rheology, mold design, and plastic part design. Experience with plastics process simulation, plastics processing (such as injection, extrusion, or blow molding), materials characterization, and thermal analysis techniques are desirable. A Ph.D. in plastics, polymer, mechanical, materials, chemical engineering, or related field is required and a minimum of two years of industry experience is preferred. Erie County is a major industrial, medical, service, and tourism center, and is within a two-hour drive of Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo.
