Position Summary:

The Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a physician with a focus on neurorehabilitation. The candidate will be working with inpatients and outpatients at UW Health locations. We are looking for candidates with a strong interest in clinical activities and education.

Principal Duties:

Duties will include provision of clinical care with a focus on neurorehabilitation. Clinically, the incumbent will work with neuro inpatients (including, but not limited to, stroke, TBI, SCI, multiple sclerosis, Parkinsons disease, cerebral palsy, spasticity management, prosthetics management) and other inpatients at the UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital. Additionally, the incumbent will perform consultations at University Hospital and other institutions as indicated for all patients requiring a rehabilitation consult. Finally, the incumbent will see outpatient neurorehabilitation patients at the UW Health Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic.
The incumbent may be asked to provide clinical care at Central Wisconsin Center and/or Clearview Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center. The incumbent will be expected to participate in the Rehabilitation Medicine call schedule.
The incumbent will be expected to increase the rehabilitation medicine practice through referrals from the region and state; to participate in outreach activities via presentations and/or clinics at hospitals and medical centers throughout the state and region; to have an active role in the training and education of medical students, and residents and fellows in the area of rehabilitation medicine.
The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service. Additionally, the successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
