Position Summary

The Department of Physiology and Biophysics and the new department chair seeks a Research Technician to be responsible for purchasing and stocking lab supplies and equipment; providing assistance with utilization and sterilization of lab equipment; acting as point of contact for vendors and facilities; maintaining vendor service agreements and organizing repair of equipment; training new lab and research technicians on purchasing and expense reimbursements; assisting with lab safety maintenance; paying lab-related invoices and reconciling lab expenses; maintaining and organizing lab order files; maintaining lab and animal protocols; processing travel and expense reimbursements; and helping lab investigators with organizing and formatting manuscripts and grant proposals.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree or two years formal training in subject matter directly related to the project or program and at least 3 years of experience directly related to the project or program.

Research experience in a laboratory setting.
