Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks applications for BC/BE cardiologists specializing in echocardiography to join a dynamic academic program, with opportunities to create a unique clinical practice and engage in teaching and clinical research at a world-class university.

UW Madison offers outstanding clinical facilities and laboratories offering a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, ASD/PFO closure, mitral and aortic balloon valvuloplasty, as well as both pre-clinical and clinical investigational device research. The position will entail a presence at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics locations in Madison.

Principal Duties:

Position responsibilities for patient care include inpatient cardiovascular medicine service and night call at Meriter hospital (a partner of UW Health); outpatient cardiovascular service including echo, nuclear medicine, and stress testing; and coverage at regional sites based on the needs of the division. Responsibilities will also include clinical teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, and other service appropriate to the position.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Fellows are encouraged to apply. Additionally, the candidate will be BC/BE in internal medicine, cardiology and
echocardiography; have training in Nuclear cardiology, a strong clinical background with demonstrated excellence in patient care and teaching, and a commitment to scholarly achievement.

License or Certificate:

Eligible for Wisconsin medical license
