Physician – Radiation Oncology (United Hospital Center)

The WVU School of Medicine - Cancer Institute Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a radiation oncologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor Level for our United Hospital Center (UHC) location in Bridgeport, WV.

The United Hospital Center (UHC) in Bridgeport, WV and the West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine Department of Radiation Oncology are seeking a radiation oncologist to join a busy, academically oriented clinical practice serving Clarksburg, Fairmont, and adjacent communities in north central West Virginia within 40 minutes of WVU’s main campus in Morgantown. The eight story, 692,000-square-foot facility opened in 2010 and includes the Cecil B. Highland Jr. and Barbara B. Highland Cancer Center. The Radiation Oncology department is adjacent to a three-person Medical Oncology practice in a Commission on Cancer certified program.

The UHC Department of Radiation Oncology provides a range of radiation oncology services including IMRT, IGRT, 3D conformal radiotherapy, VMAT and superficial therapy. Equipment includes two Elekta Synergy linear accelerators, Toshiba CT/Simulator, Pinnacle RTP system, HDR, and MOSAIQ electronic medical record. Research personnel are on site to encourage patients to consider clinical trial participation and manage them on protocols.

Duties: The successful candidate will require competence in all areas of the practice of radiation oncology. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate can also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Successful candidates will have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must have completed an accredited radiation oncology residency program, be board certified/board eligible in radiation oncology at the time of appointment and possess a commitment to patient service, clinical research, and teaching. Candidates will be eligible for a faculty appointment consistent with their experience at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and will be members of the WVU Department of Radiation Oncology as well as eligible to join the WVU Cancer Institute.
