Job Summary:
Teach classes in heavy equipment/diesel technology. Specific teaching assignment will depend upon needs of the College and specific skills of the selected candidate. Program courses cover all diesel/heavy equipment systems, including electrical, fuel, engines, power train, steering, suspension, braking and comfort.
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in diesel technology or a closely related field, and four or more years full-time journey level experience in diesel (experience must include suspension, steering, brakes, drive train, electrical/electronic systems, or hydraulics).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in teaching or training.
ASE master certification diesel.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and operate demanding equipment. Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate equipment. Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and students. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and operate lab equipment. Sixty percent or more of the job duties require standing, and job duties require some kneeling, stooping, crawling or crouching. Occasional lifting of 10-50 pounds or greater.

Teach diesel and/or heavy equipment classes
Maintain shop equipment
Develop curriculum
Perform other professional duties as needed.
