The Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery of the WVU School of Medicine, and the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute are actively recruiting a board certified/eligible vascular surgeon qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. In addition to providing patient care, the successful candidate will be involved in the teaching of medical students and fellows. Opportunities also exist in clinical research.

While this position will be primarily based at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, the WVU Heart Institute operates several satellite clinics in West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, whereby section faculty will possibly be expected to practice.

Martinsburg, WV and home of Berkeley Medical Center in the eastern panhandle continues to post the largest population growth rate in the West Virginia, over 56% in the last 20 years with its population younger and more educated than the state average. There is record economic growth in the region and 40% of residents hold jobs in neighboring northern VA, suburban MD, and downtown DC. The panhandle has the lowest unemployment rate in the state, and with the expanding high income population, continued commercial and industrial development is projected to continue along the I-81 corridor. There is close access to Dulles International Airport, Baltimore International Airport, and Reagan International Airport in Washington, D.C.

Successful candidates must have an MD or DO degree (the employer accepts foreign educational equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in vascular surgery. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
