Sets up labs for instructors and cleans up afterward, assists instructors with demonstrations, and assists with students during practice and evaluations. Maintains quality assurance logs, inventory and MSDS systems. Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Requires an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ( ARRT ) Certification, plus a minimum of 6 months of related work experience.

Licenses and Certificates: Current certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ( ARRT ) and Oregon Board of Medical Imaging ( OBMI ).

Knowledge and Skills: Must have a working knowledge of instructional techniques and skills sufficient to instruct and tutor students on an informal level. Considerable technical knowledge in Imaging is necessary. Requires working knowledge of safety practices, and proper operation and techniques for use of equipment in the industry. Strong communication skills required in order to interact with and assist students.

Abilities: Ability to set up and maintain laboratory and equipment in a safe, clean and functional manner is required. Requires the ability to set up student projects which meet the instructional goals of faculty. Must be able to instruct students in the use of imaging equipment, supplies and personal protective equipment. Must be able to communicate in both formal and informal settings with students, instructors, and other interested parties. Must be able to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and operate equipment. Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate laboratory equipment. Requires normal hearing and speaking skills to communicate with staff and students. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and operate lab equipment. Thirty percent or more of the time duties require standing and some kneeling, stooping or crouching plus lifting of light to medium weight (10-50 pounds).

Work is performed indoors with potential exposure to health or safety hazards. Some tasks require special handling due to hazards and contaminates. Considerable time is spent working on a computer. Essential Duties:
Observes students’ technical skills to access proficiency. Assists theory instructors in development of skills lab curriculum and techniques, and administers and proctors tests. Monitors skills demonstrations according to LBCC written skills criteria.

Provides demonstrations, monitors and assists students practicing a wide variety of skills. Provides for individual instruction and tutoring for students needing to make up labs or needing additional assistance.

Assembles and maintains necessary equipment for clinic/lab skill demonstrations by instructors. Maintains a clean and orderly clinic/lab with supplies stocked for demonstrations. Ensures all valuable or dangerous equipment is locked in storage rooms between sessions (i.e., needles, syringes, medications, etc.).

Checks out and ensures return of equipment and materials to students.

Maintains students’ records including practicum check offs and attendance.
Maintains and updates MSDS records and labels all products appropriately. Revises and updates the Lab Procedures Manual.

Participates in divisional activities as assigned by supervisor.

Communicates regularly with department faculty.
