The instructor is responsible to the Dean and the Department Chair for carrying out his/her assigned instructional tasks. The instructor shall perform such other duties as assigned by the Department Chair when approved by the Dean of the Business, Applied Technology and Industry Division.

Required Qualifications:

Associate of Science Degree in Water/Wastewater or a related technical field or Journeyman status in Water/Wastewater as demonstrated by Operator Certification of Level III . Recent experience of at least 5 years of full-time operation of water or wastewater facilities, preferably with increasing level of responsibility and supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with classroom, professional conference presentations and individual over-the-shoulder instruction is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Physical ability to operate technical electronic/electrical equipment. Sufficient hand/arm and finger dexterity to operate equipment. Requires sufficient hearing and speaking skills to communicate with staff and students, requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and operate lab equipment.
Work is performed in college instrumentation lab and classroom with moderate exposure to safety or health hazards.

Essential Duties:

Instruction in classes and workshops in the water and wastewater certificate and Associate Degree programs.

Provide individual over-the-shoulder instruction.

Grading and assessment of student written and lab work.

Responsible to maintain equipment and facilities.

Manage students in a learning environment.

Deliver appropriate related safety instruction.
