Job Description Summary / TWC Summary

Under general direction the Federal Direct Loan and Reconciliation Officer is responsible for organizing and facilitating Federal Grand and Direct Loan programs, and monthly reconciliations.

Essential Duties Summary

Completes import and export for Federal Grant and Direct Loan Programs on a daily basis. Monitors output reports and clean suspense file from UC4 data load process for Institutional Student Information Records. Reviews and clears error reports for import and export processes. Ensures disbursement records are processed through the Common Origination and Disbursement System on a weekly basis. Performs monthly reconciliation for Federal Direct Loan and Federal Pell Grant Programs. Revises awards based on Return to Title IV calculations in conjunction with Student Accounting Financial Aid Accountant. Awards, revises and certifies CAL (College Access) Loan. Monitors return of funds due to revision on RPALORG . Revise awards as a result of credit decisions for Federal Direct Loan Program. Assists students with state exemption and waivers. Assists parents and students in completing Master Promissory Note process. Assists applicants in linking endorsers to loans for Federal Direct Loan Program. Forwards copy of corrections files to FA Counselors as needed. Assist in the completion of the Fiscal Operations and Application to Participate ( FISAP ). Performs other job related duties as required.

Education

Some college or Associate Degree (A.A.) required. Bachelors (B.A, B.S.) degree from an accredited four your college or university preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service skills. Must have the ability to use personal computers and Microsoft Office software such as Word and Excel. Ability to use “Banner” student database also preferred.

Work Experience

Requires three (3) to five (5) years of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.

Working/Environmental Conditions

Work is performed within routine office environment with no exposure to hazardous or unpleasant conditions. Physical demands are usually limited to sitting or standing in one location much of the time. Some stooping, lifting or carrying objects of light weight may be required.
