Job Summary:
This pool has been established to accept applications for possible openings for part-time instructors that may arise throughout the year.
Assist with the development of fundamental electrical and mechanical courses that focus on the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of industrial systems used in food processing, forest products, and manufacturing facilities including advanced climate control systems. Ability to fabricate hands-on trainers.
Required Qualifications:
Associates degree plus four years professional experience or seven years of equivalent professional experience and training in some closely related area of technical expertise: for example, refrigeration or industrial plant maintenance. All related certification and training considered.
Must be able to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to instruct is a plus. Oregon LME . Refrigeration certifications.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and operate lab equipment. Sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate equipment. Visual acuity to read words and numbers and sufficient hearing and well-developed speaking ability to communicate with staff and students. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Significant time spent working at a computer.
Essential Duties:
Assist in the development and instruction of a wide variety of courses in electrical systems, computer control of mechanical, electro-mechanical systems.
Advise students in educational planning and work place readiness issues.
Assist with program recruitment and placement.
Assist with the maintenance of a sophisticated manufacturing process lab.
