Job Summary:

This pool has been established to accept applications for possible openings for part-time instructors that may arise throughout the year. Provide teaching and learning support to Health and Human Performance students.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Health and Human Performance or directly related field (such as Public Health), or a bachelor’s degree plus 27 graduate quarter hours in the above field(s) and in active pursuit of master’s degree or doctorate. Recent college teaching experience required.

Must be able to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Completed master’s degree and experience teaching Lifetime Health and Fitness, Exercise and Weight Management and Stress Management. Working knowledge of computer software such as Word or WordPerfect, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong preference given to candidates with education and experience in Occupational Safety, Health Promotion, Therapeutic Exercise and Epidemiology/Health Data Analysis.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Sufficient visual acuity to recognize alphanumeric characters. Good hearing and well-developed speaking ability to communicate with staff and students.

Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety and health hazards.

Essential Duties:

Promote excellence in instruction through innovative instructional methods in the Health and Human Performance program.

Identify and meet the needs for student learning. Promote student learning and skills attainment. Work within the guiding principles of outcomes based learning.

Develop course curriculum, deliver teaching to students, assess student learning. Grade papers and turn in grades on time.

Work within the philosophy and mission of the college as an educator.

Advise Health and Human Performance students and facilitate in their learning.

Perform assigned teaching and advising roles, to include promoting the program and student retention.

Participate as assigned on departmental and college committees/councils.

Actively engage in communication and collaboration with the Health and Human Performance Department.

Work on a planned schedule of professional development to attain current knowledge and practice.

Assist in departmental learning activities as assigned.
