We have an urgent need for part-time clinical nursing faculty for the Nursing program at Linn-Benton Community College for our spring term. The instructor is responsible to the Division Dean and Nursing Department Chair in carrying out his/her assigned instructional tasks. The instructor furthers the learning environment by providing excellence in instruction, helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering clinical skills, participating in department affairs, contributing to curriculum development, advising students and assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the Nursing Department Chair.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or currently progressing in a RN to MS program beyond the bridge courses,and current Oregon RN license (verifiable on OSBN website). Accepts philosophy of the Associate Degree Nursing Program in a community college.

Must be able to work respectfully with individuals of all cultures, backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Nursing. Documentation of preparation in a clinical specialty, teaching experience and equivalent to three years of full-time nursing experience.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Essential Duties:

Supervise nursing students in the clinical setting which includes:

Select appropriate assignments.

Conduct pre and post clinical conferences.

Assist in nursing skill development.

Evaluate clinical performance.

Write student performance reports.

Confer with students on their progress.

Participate in nursing faculty team meetings.

Keep office hours in accordance with college policy.

Contribute when appropriate to the improvement of present curricula and the development of new courses when necessary.

Meet classes regularly as scheduled and on time.

Adapt appropriate methods and materials of teaching to meet the needs of students, consistent with maintenance of quality education.

Participate in the evaluation processes as requested.
