Hudson County CC

Located in the most ethnically diverse, densely populated, and dynamic area of the United States, Hudson County Community College (HCCC) reflects the vibrancy, resilience and determination of its residents and its history.

HCCC serves its diverse communities with inclusive programs and services that promote student success, and social and economic mobility. The College operates from three campuses located just across the Hudson River from Manhattan. The Statue of Liberty is visible from the Journal Square Campus in Jersey City, a location that played a key role in the nation’s founding. Similarly, the North Hudson Campus in Union City is a short distance from the site of the 1804 Hamilton-Burr duel. The Secaucus Center is situated in territory that was settled in the 17th century and is considered to be New Jersey’s oldest municipality.  All three sites are located in or near public transportation hubs.

Viewed by thousands as a promise of a better life, HCCC offers credit and non-credit programs that provide pathways to baccalaureate degrees and/or fulfilling and sustainable careers in today’s global society. There are more than 90 degree and certificate programs, and more than 300 daytime, evening, and weekend classes, including award-winning English as a Second LanguageSTEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)Culinary Arts/Hospitality ManagementNursing and Health Professions, and Humanities and Social Sciences. Programs and classes are offered during the day, evenings, and weekends. Through its Center for Online Learning (COL), Hudson Online offers 16 fully online programs, and more fully online program offerings are being developed and added annually. Transfer Pathways with every major four-year college and university in the greater New Jersey-New York area and beyond accommodate seamless transfer of credits for further undergraduate and graduate education.

Most importantly, HCCC maintains a culture that addresses students’ holistic needs. The College’s “Hudson Helps" Resource Center works collaboratively with area organizations and businesses to remove food and housing insecurity, emergency financial needs, wellness and childcare issues, and other roadblocks to college completion.

It’s no wonder that HCCC students often refer to classmates, faculty and staff as family, and attest that “Hudson is Home.”
